New ABA Center Expansion

Oxford Recovery Center is celebrating the opening of our 35,000 square foot autism center expansion. This expansion includes “The Village of ORC,” with 12 retail stores including a dentist office, hair salon, coffee shop, and grocery store. The Village of ORC will be used for ABA therapy in a natural setting, as well as for the New COMPASS Therapeutic Vocational Training Program for young adults with autism who are ready to move into independence and sustainable employment.
This is the only facility of its kind in the US, making it the best location in the country for Natural Environment Teaching. It includes ABA rooms that graduate children from one-on-one learning all the way up to a school like setting, helping to prepare them for success in school.
By offering ABA, Physical, Occupational, AND Speech Therapy as well as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Neurofeedback Therapy, and Medical Lab Testing, Oxford’s innovative approach meets the needs of individuals with autism, as well as Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke and many others.

Features of the new ABA Center

  • An indoor park with road, crosswalk, and curbs where kiddos can learn to navigate the real world safely.
  • A full-size playscape where they can play with other children and develop physical and social skills.
  • A classically trained chef with a commercial kitchen to provide individualized lunches based upon the dietary needs of each child.
  • A functioning village where kiddos can experience a coffee shop, smoothie shop, soup and sandwich shop, pet store, gift store, grocery store, police station, post office, dentist office and salon. It will be ideal for natural environment learning.
  • A water room, music room, and art room where they can work on related sensory issues as well as enjoy reward time for a job well done.
  • A variety of different room sizes so kids can transition to new environments as their skills progress.

“A great thing about Oxford Recovery Center is that we collaborate with so many other services. We have Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, medical staff, we also have Neurofeedback Therapy, as well as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, all under one roof. ABA Therapy intertwines with all of these services, including a specialized lunch program. That big collaborative approach allows the client to get everything they need within one setting. With our new building coming we’re going to be able to offer a lot of cool opportunities for programming with our clients.”

Jessica,

ABA Director

This place is the absolute best for autism. They have given my son a whole new trajectory in life. Truly remarkable. Their staff are experienced professionals who have lots of care and compassion for what families face. This was the 3rd autism program we tried after two failed miserably. This place is probably one of the best in the country.

Michelle

“We’ll have all kinds of opportunities to target behaviors from being on a playscape, to practicing in a dentist or salon chair, ordering coffee, or going to a dollar store. Everything in this environment will mimic what it looks like in the community. There are curbs, there’s a walkway, we’ll have kids with bicycles and scooters navigating the environment here so that it will make them more successful in the natural environment. The indoor playscape was built to allow them to play with other children and to be more successful when they are playing elsewhere, like a local park or playground. Those are just some of the features that we have that will help to make our children successful.”
